My Very Best Friend and I Have Not Met

Together with all of my travel, it was hard to keep a constant friendship. I've got many friends, but we'd meet once a month or so. However, there is 1 friend that has always been there for the last six decades, and we've never actually met personally. That probably sounds strange to most people, but social networking was advantageous to something (irrespective of finding ways to catch a cheater), it helped me find my own bestie.

Social Media Friends

For lots of people making new friends on societal networking is the sole means they must meet new men and women. As people get older, it's rather a lot harder to find people that they will have things in common with. But on interpersonal media, it's no problem to find friends that you could bond with on the love of a TV series, a dedication to puppies, or any hobbies you might have.

I met with my best friend in a Facebook group for travellers. With all of my journeys and what else happening in my life, becoming out to social events was not going to occur. Therefore once I clicked with another traveler that was on my side of earth within my FB group, I had been excited. Soon we were messaging daily. Then we started talking on the phone and texting. And the friendship simply grew from there.

Long Digital Friendship

Over time she's shared important milestones of my own life. She has always been there for me when I needed to talk, or wished to vent. We have a weekly friend date at which we watch life time pictures or a TV show together on Skype or face time and talk everything going on.

I have been around on her too. As her life has changed and grown I have been around to the 3 AM panicked phone calls when one of the ways to catch a cheater actually worked and she revealed that her boy friend was cheating. Needless to say, the bash when she got a new job. {After she got engaged, I was the next man that she told.

Online Friendships

The notion that online friendships are not somehow as valid as in person friendships is foolish. Social media gives us the possiblity to get in touch very deeply with different individuals. It's really a convenient way to get to know people. These days people are so busy with life. Most of us think it's impossible to carve out one hour or so to go have coffee or a beverage with a new friend. It's easier to make time for face-book messages or online chats or texts.

But just because the way that individuals make friends has changed doesn't follow that the disposition of friendship has changed. Although my best friend and I have not met in person, I have no doubt that she's going to always be there for me. And I'll always be there for her. We are finally meeting in real life though! When I fly to her hometown to help her choose a bridal gown a month. I am glad we found ways to catch a cheater and proceeded her on to bigger and better things!
